Welcome to Cerddoriaeth Celtica, a companion piece for the Starlight Radio Dreams series “Celtica”. In this episode of Cerddoriaeth Celtica, Karolyn Blake, co writer for Celtica and the actor behind the title character, sings “Oro 'se do Bheatha Bhaile" an Irish independence song by Padraig Pearse, based on a folk song that has worn many guises over its long history. Pearse made it a tribute to Grace O'Malley, a woman whose cunning and courage can inspire us to fight our oppressors today.
